Larkford provides PowerDown devices, equipment powered from renewable sources, such as human and solar. Our first product is a Solar food dryer, based on a design from Appalachian State University.

The Garden model below is our  smallest dryer. The drying box separates from the heat collector, the legs fold up, and the whole unit is quite light.

Just point the solar collection panel towards the sun and warm air moves through the drying box to remove moisture from your prepared fruit and vegetables.  Convenient mesh trays slide in and out, and can be taken into the kitchen to have sliced fruit or vegetables placed on them.  The trays are even dishwasher proof.

The Orchard model is for those with more fruit and vegetables to dry.  This model has wheels and handles to make it easy to move around.  The trays in this model are large screened trays and are made to the requirement of the client.

Both models have a sliding vent system at the top of the dryer box so that you can control the air flow and the temperature of the unit. All the vents are screened so that insects cannot get to your drying food.

Every unit is inspected by our Quality Control Manager, Red, before it leaves our premises.
